Today we are going to study plural forms and how they work in Italian.


Let's practice some grammar rules

Words that ends in -go; -ga makes always their plural ending in -ghi; ghe:

Singular		Plural
Italian	English	Italian	English
largo	wide	larghi	wide ones
larga	long	larghe	long ones

Words ending in -io makes their plural according to this rule:

If their letter -i is tonic they make their plural ending in -ii:

Singular		Plural
Italian	English	Italian	English
zio	uncle	zii	uncles

If the last -i is atonic they make their plural ending in -i:

Singular		Plural
Italian	English	Italian	English
pomeriggio	afternoon	pomeriggi	afternoons
