Plural Forms (Part IV)

Today we are going to study plural forms and how they work in Italian.


Let's practice some grammar rules


Words that ends in -go; -ga makes always their plural ending in -ghi; ghe:

Words ending in -io makes their plural according to this rule:

If their letter -i is tonic they make their plural ending in -ii:

La signora, il signor

Ciao!


Today we are going to work on a short conversation in Italian and you'll see how many things we have learnt in the moment. 


If you have read my previous entries you have learnt how to say Hi, and How are you.


Today I am going to introduce you to some extra vocabulary.  First, the word Piacere which means "be fond of" but as an answer it means that you feel pleased to meet someone.


The word for Mr. in Italian is Signor
The word for Mrs. in Italian is Signora.

Carla: Buona sera, signor Saade. Come sta?
Eric: Bene, grazie, E Lei?
Carla: Oggi sto proprio male
Eric: Oh mi dispiace.  Ah, le presento il signor Saucedo.  Signor Saucedo, la signora Bruni

Today we are going to continue studying some rules that will help you to understand how plural forms are made in Italian: 



Italian words with accent on the penultimate syllable ending with -co; -go (i.e. male ones) usually keep their sound on their plural form changing their spelling.
